Updates

Burr-Baby-Burr!

Whoo, it’s been a long time since I’ve been here making any sort of comment from my corner of the world. Let me just say, my corner got more than a little busy and it has nothing to do with the holidays. I can say, things have calmed down, but I don’t expect them to stay that way. This is why I figured now would be a good time as any to update everyone who cares what I am up to doing.

The very first thing, I have made a release date schedule! 2021 was supposed to be my year, I got everything set up, then was hit with more editing than I knew what to do with. And well, trying to edit two books, work full-time, go to school, on top of starting the podcast and keeping up with the blog, I got more than a little overwhelmed. I have a plan in place, so it’s just a matter of me sticking to it so everything doesn’t unravel. I won’t go into detail about that release calendar here, but I will be updating the site. I will say, I am going to shoot for five releases in 2022, with enough space in between to breathe a little bit. It’s going to be my first time at marketing so there is that to look forward to.

Secondly, I am nearly finished with the writing school I am attending. I have two more lessons/edits— the next due in January— so I expect that when I write out an update for the spring, it will be to say I’m finished. I’m not sure if I will be excited to be finished, but I will be somewhat relieved. I completely understand now why it takes a year for books to come out. Even if the author is awesome and can get the draft written in a month or two, it’ll take three to six months, possibly longer, to get it edited within every inch of its life. So, when I finish, this book I have written with my instructor/editor will have been professionally edited. I will likely still need to do line edits and everything that comes after the first BIG draft read-through, but that will come later. Just like I promise to talk about it more… just later.

Lastly, I do reviews on my podcast and sometimes do an edited version on Goodreads and/or Amazon, but there are books I read where I say nothing at all. With the thought to change that, I will be also adding reviews to my blog. They won’t be weekly like my musings posts, more along the lines of when I feel like posting one. Those might be updated on Thursday. I’m not sure how they will look, but that’s the plan.

Now, let the countdown to the beginning of 2022 continue on!
